The orange double Oriental lily 'Flore Pleno' is another beauty for gardens and bouquets. Grows up to 120 cm tall and thrives in group plantings. Just like other lilies, it comes back each year and also does well in containers. Plant lilies 10–15 cm deep. Make sure the soil is airy and well-draining. Place them in a sheltered spot, protected from wind, and give them plenty of sun. You can plant lily bulbs in both spring (April–May) and autumn (October–November). If frost is expected, protect bulbs and shoots with leaves or twigs. We recommend replanting lilies every 3–4 years to keep them vigorous and blooming beautifully. Beware of the red lily beetle – lilies’ biggest enemy! The best way to handle them is by handpicking. Pesticides often don't work, as the beetles develop resistance quickly.
