Gladiolus Orange. Gladioli are real summer bloomers that can bloom until autumn. This large-flowered gladioli grows to 100 cm and is also a beautiful cut flower. So be sure to plant a row of gladioli in your cut flower garden. In addition, gladioli are very richly flowering and should therefore not be missing in your summer flower garden.You can plant the tubers of Gladioli in the spring about 7-10 cm deep. First loosen the soil well and sprinkle a layer of sharp sand at the bottom of the planting hole. This allows rainwater to drain away well under the tubers. Place the tubers about 10-12 cm apart. Add some high quality potting soil during planting. Mix heavy (clay) soil with sharp sand before planting. This large-flowered gladiolus likes to grow in a warm, sunny spot.This large-flowered gladiolus combines well. You can create special combinations with it in the border with tall perennials and dahlias. It is best to plant gladioli in a different spot each year. Are you using the gladiolus as a cut flower? Then pick the stems when the flower lowest on the stem opens, preferably early in the morning. Place the stems directly in a vase with lukewarm water with cut flower food.-
